Idli Manchurian

Idli Manchurian is made by popular south Indian breakfast item IDLI. If you have some left over idlis, then Idli Manchurian is the best recipe to make with those.  It is very easy and quick to prepare. Check the recipe here.

Ingredients

For Frying Idli

  • 2 tablespoons maida
  • 2 tablespoons corn flour
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • ¾ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • Salt and oil as required

For Gravy

  • ¼ cup finely chopped spring onions
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger and garlic
  • ½ tablespoon soya sauce
  • ½ tablespoon chilli sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • ½ bowl sliced capsicum
  • ¼ bowl chopped green chillies
  • ¼ tablespoon pepper

Idli Manchurian

Preparation

  • Cut the idlis into pieces
  • Add corn flour, maida, red chilli powder,ginger garlic paste and salt in a bowl.
  • Add some water and make this into a thin paste
  • Add idli cubes to the paste. Fry the dipped idli pieces and keep them aside
  • In a pan, add oil, spring onions, ginger and garlic and sauté them for around 2 minutes
  • Add green chillies and sliced capsicum and cook for 2 more minutes
  • Pour soya sauce, chilli sauce, vinegar, tomato sauce and mix well
  • Add fried idlis and mix well
  • Transfer it into a serving plate and garnish with spring onions
  • Serve
